Time in Perspective

I read a blog from the Culture Monk http://culturemonk.com/2014/01/19/its-all-about-respect-really/ that got me thinking about time. In the blog, Ken talked about a visit he had with an Italian who was complaining about Costa Rican help. In short the Italian was angry because her hired help showed up at random hours, not on a set schedule.

I can understand her duress, but when I take a step back, and think about the culture of Costa Rica, I imagine mixed drinks, and ocean sunsets, and then it’s easy to see why time is valued different. I wish life could be like that here in the States.
